I kept going to the SR20 Store pretty much begging to have progress on the engine. Marco told me not to worry because it only takes 2 days to get the engine in.
While that maybe the case and I bought all the big components, I know that there were tons of small pieces missing like bolts, hoses, fittings… etc.
My suggestion through 2020-2021 was to work on the engine once a week, 20 mins the most. That way there is small progress. This would also let me know what I a missing and I could possible get it.
If this happened, not only would the engine be done, but I wouldn’t be scrambling to find parts, but also be impacted by the delay of the car in AZ for paint.
Some issues
The other issue with letting stuff pile up is that forget what parts are there and to use them.
Example is I have the LS1 Alternator bracket, but Marco forgot and put on the OEM one.
While stuff is getting done, it’s now all the small pieces that need to be addressed.
Again, if I had known what parts from before, I’d possible would have found options for them.
A small fitting that I seem to can’t find is this:

While it isn’t perfect, I think the RB26dett oil return might be good enough.
